Adopt Candy (S. Korea) hz a Tricolor (Tan/Brown & Black & White) Jindo / Spitz

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Hi there! My name is Candy and I have quite a story to tell!Breed: Jindo/Spitz mixAge: 3 yearsGender: Female Weight: 14 lbHeight: 35 cmHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, no resource guarding issues, no escape tendency, enjoys car ridesI was found as a stray and ended up in a city pound. I was in pretty bad shape with a severe skin disease, but luckily some amazing volunteers came to my rescue. They took care of me and helped me recover. I'm so grateful for their love and dedication.Since December 15th, I've been in foster care, waiting for my forever home. When I first meet new people, I can be a little shy, but I quickly warm up, especially if you have treats! Once I feel comfortable, I'll show you just how affectionate I can be. I absolutely love cuddling and if you start petting me, you'll see my tail wagging with joy.I'm not really interested in other dogs and prefer to keep to myself. I'll say a quick hello, but I'm not really into playing. I had a chance to meet a cat once and I didn't show much interest, so I might be okay with feline friends.I have a moderate energy level, so I enjoy outdoor activities like walks, but I also love to relax and be calm at home. During walks, I'll follow your lead and enjoy sniffing around, so please be patient with me. I can be a little scared of urban things, so if I get scared, I might lie down flat.I really enjoy chew toys and playing tug, but sometimes I get a little confused about which toys are mine. So if you go out without me, please remove anything that could be mistaken as my toys.I haven't shown any signs of aggression and I don't have any issues with resource guarding. I'm also not prone to separation anxiety and I rarely bark. I don't have a tendency to escape and I am crate-trained. As for housetraining, I'm about 50% pee-pads and 50% outdoors.Oh, and one more thing, I don't get carsick, so I'll be a great travel companion! If you're looking for a sweet and cuddly dog to join your family, I might just be the perfect match for you.Energy Level: Moderate - enjoy outdoor activitiesI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yesKids: unsureFears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes - 50% outdoor 50% pee-pads. Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1945393##
